Saloon Stock Cars

A truly wonderful European Championship final for Saloon Stock Cars developed into a head to head showdown between pole position starter 186 Todd Jones and 499 David Aldous. Three times in the dramatic final lap, Aldous attacked Jones, but he could just not shift him from the lead, and Jones held on to effectively be pushed over the line by Aldous. Yet again the Saloon Stock Cars showed themselves to be fully capable of delivering Stock Car Racing AT ITS FINEST.
490 Ian Jarman completed the top three. 305 Nigel Parker won the first of two Allcomers races, ahead of 512 Darren Barnett, and it was Barnett who took Allcomers 2.

BriSCA F2 Stock Cars

Scottish ace 7 Gordon Moodie continued his unbelievable summer, as he added the BSCDA F2 Benevolent Fund Trophy to his haul since returning at the start of July.  Moodie caught and passed early leader 167 Bill Batten, to regain the silver rosebowl he last won in 2003.  Batten, unfortunately failed post-race scrutineering on axle offset, which promoted 886 Chris Bradbury to the runner-up place, whilst 901 Ian Thompson took the final place on the rostrum.
Earlier on in the afternoon, 976 Adam Maxwell had taken the flag in the Teen Sensations race, but failed to pass the track width test at post race scrutineering.  That saw 186 George Turiccki promoted to first place, and thus he retained the Teen Sensations title, ahead of 733 Stuart Mitchell and 935 Nathan Maidment.
127 Matt Stoneman bounced back from two clashes with 116 Ashley Rundle, to win the Steve Rich Memorial Trophy final, and thus became only the second driver this season to win a final at both Smeatharpe and St Day.

National Bangers - One Sunny Day

Just under 40 Nissan Sunnys contested this season's memorable One Sunny Day.  Six drivers were duly rewarded for their efforts with Best Presented awards - 110 Derek Tyler, 190 Steve Bailey, 260 Keith Reynolds, 360 Jack Reynolds, 451 Nigel Belfield and 474 Darren Polden.
All three races were highly destructive.  208 Jimmy Randall and 239 Steve Carter were the heat winners, but it was 406 Chris Bridger who became this year's winner of One Sunny Day, ahead of Carter and Bailey.
A tremendous end of meeting DD came down to a father and son contest, with 180 Andy Bailey defeating his son, Steve.
