2-Litre National Bangers

The St Valentine's Day Massacre saw over 20 drivers in action at the nation's most south westerly venue, and they provided a good mix of racing and crashing.
The first heat saw 162 Brett Ellacott in devastating form, as he followed in 66 Dave Spooner at the start, and then buried 11 Lee Donnelly at the finish, which brought about a premature end to the race.  In the lead at the time was 47 Marcus A'Lee, and he was rewarded with the win.
Ellacott stormed to victory in heat two, which had to be re-run after 180 Andy Bailey had been bundled up the pits bend fence by 111 Ray Rowe.  After the race, Ellacott gallantly handed his trophy to a young supporter in the crowd.
In the final, 452 Anthony Sleeman was quick to hit the front, and he built up a good lead.  Ellacott charged up the order, but could not catch Lurch by the time the chequered fell.  Bailey completed the top three, and he too presented his trophy to a young race fan.
Sleeman, Bailey and 45 Antony Croshaw were the only three to make the DD, which Bailey won when he battered Lips into submission.  Upon striking the winning blow, Bailey comically produced a newspaper which he sat reading.  Lips leapt from his own car and then hopped in with Bailey to catch up the news as well amidst lots of smiles and splendid spirit amongst the drivers.

Stock Rods

 Visiting star names stole the show in the non-contact Stock Rods who turned out in very encouraging numbers, with 20 cars in the pit area.
909 Justin Washer held off a late charge by 500 Kim Carter to win heat one, but in the second heat, Carter was quick to grab the lead and secure a first win for the afternoon.
Carter and Washer shared the front row for the Winter Supreme final, but from grid three, 37 Barry Trickey battled hard to find a way past Washer.  Even so, he was unable to reel in former English Champion Carter who took the victory, whilst 555 Greg Radmore and 49 Kev Lock tangled untidily on the back straight after a mid-race spat between them.

Ministox

 The youngsters in the Ministox excelled themsleves once again, with a hugely impressive 23-car showing for their first Cornish meeting of the new season.
Heat wins went to 954 Hannah Sear, 942 Steven Gilbert and 977 Kierren Bradford, and during those heats there were rollovers for 966 Rich Crowther and 916 Reece Bloodworth.
A hesistant start from the white graders gave the yellow tops an early chance to move into contention in the final, and it was visiting driver 315 Tristan Claydon who was quick to pounce.  He and Steven Gilbert pulled away from the pack and finished some way clear of third placed 960 Dale Moon, as all three drivers received splendid trophies from sponsors St Austell Bay Motor Auction.
