Clive Wilcox - RIP

Autospeed were saddened to learn of the loss of Clive Wilcox on 11 March.

Clive, who was based in Liskeard, Cornwall, fulfilled a number of roles during many years connected to short oval racing.  He raced in the old Sports & Production Class, and in BriSCA F2 Stock Cars in the early 1970s.

When he retired from competition, Clive took up an active part in the administration of Autospeed's racing seasons, particularly with the Hot Rods and the Auto Rods which subsequently evolved into Saloon Stock Cars.

Clive was also a guiding influence for a vast number of newcomers to the sport; always happy to spend time and share his experiences with folk who showed an interest in short oval racing.

Stock Car nostalgia was another subject which Clive was involved with, as he regularly assisted his brother, Jim, when they presented occasional film shows, with remarkable footage dating back to the 1960s.
