On 13 April, Autospeed were advised that racing with a crowd of specatators would not be permitted until after 17 May.  Since that instruction, Autospeed have continued to liaise with the relevant Local Authorities, and have now scheduled events as below.

This has been a challenge to get the balance right.  Autospeed fully recognise the eagerness of drivers (in all classes) wishing to race, but also need to accept that a Behind Closed Doors event has to be for formulas which are best suited to this format of racing.  Furthermore, some formulas have nationally agreed rates and driver benefits which do not fit with this format.  Autopeed are also concerned at limiting the number of race fans who would be denied the opportunity to wach the action.

Behind Closed Doors
Accordingly, Autospeed have planned just two Behind Closed Doors events - one at Smeatharpe on Mayday Monday 3 May and another at St Day on Sunday 16 May.  Autospeed have tried to keep the cost of attending a Behind Closed Doors event as low as possible.
Drivers are advised that there are limited spaces available a the Behind Closed Doors events.
Each formula is further advised that if driver response does not meet expected levels, that formula will be removed from the programme.

For the events which will offer racing Behind Closed Doors, persons may only attend if they fall within the following categories:
Driver - MUST be a Full Licence Holder
Member of Driver's Team/Bubble - up to a maximum of 6 persons
Volunteer/Race Official/Medic
For complete clarity, SPECTATORS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
On arrival at the Behind Closed Doors events, everyone will be expected to scan the QR code.

To compete in the Behind Closed Doors event, the following costs will apply:
Driver plus 1 team member - £42.50 - being £40 as per Open Track Days, £2 ORC Health & Safety fund and 50p booking fee
Each subsequent team member, up to 4 more with a bubble of a maximum of 6 persons £10.50 Adult and £5.50 Child.
There are no other concessions.

At the Behind Closed Doors events, there WILL be trophies as per a regular race meeting, but there will be no Lap Of Honour at the end of each race.
Stock Rods, Ministox and Autospeed Bangers will score points in the 2021 Points Championship.

Bookings from the three original dates in April CANNOT be used for the Behind Closed Doors meetings, but CAN be used for the regular race meetings once they begin from 17 May onwards.
