In-Car Cameras

All drivers are reminded of the ruling with regards the use of in-car cameras.

Intellectual property rights to racing remain with the staging promoter.
Therefore, the use of in-car cameras is not permitted, unless by prior consent with the promotion.

Autospeed had previously acceded to reasonable requests for the use of such equipment, on the basis that footage was solely and exclusively for personal use.  However, at recent meetings, a number of drivers have abused this privilege, by way of seeking to use in-car cameras without permission, and/or, publishing footage on social media sites without permission.

Autospeed are now intending to introduce a new policy for this topic, on a trial basis.

To gain permission to use an in-car camera, a driver must complete a form on raceday, at the Pit Office, no later than one hour before start time.  This will then be accompanied by a token charge of £2 per application.  The charges collected, will then be passed on to assorted 'deserving causes' within the sport, such as FORDS Care, BriSCA F2 Benevolent Fund, etc.
