Oliver's Grand Day Out

There will be a special fund raising initiative this year, in connection with the Easter Sunday 16 April fixture at the United Downs Raceway, St Day.

The aim of the project is to raise £1000 (or more) towards "Oliver's Grand Day Out".

Oliver is fast approaching his first birthday.  He was born with a condition known as 'cloves syndrome' - part of the PIK3CA gene.  This affects sufferers in different ways, but for Oliver, his feet are very flat and large, and his toes are growing abnormally.  His left leg is growing bigger than his right too.  He was born with birth marks covering most of his body, and a lot of lymphatic lumps externally and internally.  He has a higher risk for tumours and cancer.

He has already gone through a lot of medical processes, etc - such as MRI scans, ultrasounds and X-rays.  He has repeat scans every 3 months.  He currently has the external lumps over his back, chest, arms and leg.  MRI had also shown a lot of internal lumps too, one being 4.2cm by 2.1cm.

Oliver

Oliver's parents are understandly very keen to take Oliver to see the world's specialists, who are based in Boston, USA.

There are an assortment of ways to raise funds for that much needed trip.  Recently, there has been an online raffle for a Ford KA and a Nissan Micra (both to be used at St Day on 19 March in the National Micro Bangers).  That has raised over £400 for the fund.  We are now turning our attention to drivers racing on 16 April.

Autospeed have pledged £10 for each of the 40 Banger drivers that will race that day.
Ringwood Raceway have also kindly and generously pledged £10 for each of those same 40 Banger drivers.

So with 40 drivers set to race on 16 April, those pledges are worth £400, twice - hence another £800 for the fund.

Autospeed are also willing to collect the £10 "pay to race" fee from each of the 40 Banger drivers, and redirect that straight into Oliver's fund, too.

Any business looking to join us, please get in touch.  We would welcome pledges of £5+ per driver.  All funds will go directly to Oliver's fund.
