On This Day - 2nd July
On this day in 1986, 555 Percy Sleeman scored the first win of his career, when he triumphed in a BriSCA F2 consolation race at Newton Abbot. The victory proved highly popular with regular racegoers, and in Rob Warren’s subsequent newspaper report, Percy was described, much to his delight, as the ‘archetypal shoestring racer’.
