On This Day - 3rd July

On this day in 2005, the centenary BriSCA F2 fixture at St Day was staged.  Ahead of the day’s race action, a collection of drivers assembled – each of them having scored a BriSCA F2 final win at the track during the previous 99 F2 fixtures staged at the iconic Cornish venue.  As the afternoon progressed, the circuit’s record F2 final winner, 167 Bill Batten, added another success to his tally.  By the time of his retirement in 2014, Bill had won 22 finals at the United Downs Raceway.
