BriSCA F2 Stock Cars Just under 40 drivers contested the first Smeatharpe date for F2s, since mid-April. 877 Eddie Darby won at Smeatharpe in a F2 for the first time, and 393 Chris Cuming took the second heat. The consolation brought 891 Darren Wade his first win of the season. A tremendous final went from green flag to chequered, and as the star men duelled and battled amongst themselves, 628 Chris Stephens charged clear to take top honours, winning from Cuming and 538 Chevy Mills. A sensational Grand National ended the meeting, and 642 Dave Luscombe scored a last bend victory over 667 Tim Farrell. Bangerstox The record car count for Bangerstox was smashed once again, with 80 drivers in action. After heat wins for 171 Mark Freeman, 804 Treve Wills and 672 Simon Paris, it was 5 Nigel Fordham who became the first star grade winner in the consolation. The Devon Championship saw 415 Sean Gillett score a convincing victory, and although 475 Ben Sealy pipped 382 Danny Hunt in the scramble to cross the line second, he failed post-race scrutineering, and that promoted Hunt to second and 15 Brett Sedgbeer to third. Over 50 drivers were ready, willing and able to contest the Allcomers event, and so two races took place, with 719 Cheese Storrie the winner of the first, and 991 Ben Hale victorious in the second. Ministox There was a continuation of recent good form for 923 Lee Porter, as he swept to a heat and final double, after 985 Amy Deeble had led home the improving 938 Ashley Rice in the opening heat for the youngsters.
