Smeatharpe Stadium, Taunton - 9th April 2007

The Easter weekend concluded in very busy fashion, with a four formula programme that was packed with cars in all classes, and the large Bank Holiday crowd of raceogers was also treated to a Caravan Stunt, in which 320 Nick Manning twice shot through an old caravan, whilst at the wheel of his BMW Bangerstox.


BriSCA F2 Stock Cars
After heat wins for yellow tops 509 Terry Butcher and 76 Chris Rowe, 167 Bill Batten notched his second successive Smeatharpe final win of the season. 438 Mike Rice and Butcher followed him home, and 935 Nathan Maidment took the GN, to make amends for his bungled last bend attack on 685 Adam Deeble in the consolation.

Saloon Stock Cars
English Champion 402 Shaun Webster made it six wins from six starts at the World Final venue. At the end of heat two, World and National Points Champion 499 David Aldous was disqualified, as his wheel guard had become detached in the very late stages. Aldous duly loaded up and left the stadium.

Stock Rods
There was a continuation of good early season form for 125 Mike Hibberd. He reeled in race leader 926 Roy Rundle to steal the final very late on, and then returned to second in the GN, despite the customary one lap handicap, as Rundle claimed the first win of his career.

Bangerstox
Over 50 drivers were in action in the Bangerstox. 416 Danny Lawrence took the Easter Hop Trophy final, there were maiden wins for 145 Lee Morgan and 787 Dave Cottrell, and 700 Les Brice top scored for the day.
