Smeatharpe Stadium, Taunton - 27th May 2007

Ever-worsening weather blighted the Spring Bank Holiday Sunday fixture at Smeatharpe, although there were more than 100 competitors at the event, despite the miserable conditions.

Saloon Stock Cars
A cosmopolitan entry of Saloon Stock Cars included drivers from as far and wide as Scotland and even Holland. Three westcountry yellow graders took the honours, as heat wins for 528 Ian Govier and 269 Glenn Chalkley were followed by a career first success in the final for 964 Kenny Peters, ahead of National Champion 720 Shane Brown and British Champion 618 Stuart Shevill Jnr.

Bangerstox
Almost 50 Bangerstox were present for the annual Devon Championship showdown. A fine drive by 677 Glenn Nash netted him the title, as he survived a late race suspension to see out the remaining laps and claim victory ahead of 988 Tom White and long time leader 941 Hannah Creed, who duly completed the day with a flying win in the Wacky Ramp Race.

Stock Rods
The grid for Stock Rods was heavily populated in the blue and red grade, with not so many low grade drivers. 925 Ashley Rundle notched a heat and final double from the yellows, and 550 Matt Phillips scored his first win of the season in the Grand National.

Ladies Bangerstox
Thirteen intrepid lady racers took to the track for the annual Ladies Bangerstox events, where there were wins for 954 Kirsty Selway and 50 Tracey Mandrupson.

Ministox
971 Jason Cox scored a faultless hat-trick in the Ministox, to claim the annual Club 21 trophy, and 960 Dale Moon racked up some good placings, with a trio of top three finishes.
