Saloon Stock Cars Having waited all season long, 240 Tony Gould finally recorded his first Saloon Stock Car victory of the year, and then promptly proceeded to notch two more on his way to a brilliant hat-trick, which netted him the Western Championship. The 16-car entry was an encouraging showing and even included young Scot, 67 Frankie Cunningham.
BriSCA F2 Stock Cars The star of the day in the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars was 667 Tim Farrell. At the start of the meeting, he had zero World points, but after a fine consolation and final double, he had racked up 26 points, to put himself right back into contention for a World Semi Final start next month. It was also a good day for World points for 393 Chris Cuming and 401 Barry Goldin, whilst World Champion 7 Gordon Moodie performed well on the unfamiliar circuit.
Bangers (under 1800cc) A disappointing entry of Bangers, despite the lure of World Championship points, resulted in more racing, and less crashing than usual. Honours were shared, with wins for 714 Paul Smaldon, 508 Steve Ashby and 507 Paul Ashby.
BriSCA Heritage The 16-car grid of vintage Stock Cars, even included a replica of the very first car raced by ex-651 Bill Batten. Both heats went the way of 728 Graham Bunter. F144 Tony Clarke performed a rollover, and 716 Roy Clarke took the final.
