Sunday 25th February 2007

United Downs Raceway, St Day - 25th Febrary 2007

The annual St Day Practice Event was held on a cold, but crisp, dry day, which offered good conditions for the encouraging number who attended.

There were more BriSCA F2 Stock Cars than anything else, with ten drivers taking the opportunity to get some trial laps in before the Grand Opening Meeting next week.
76 Chris Rowe, in his brand new Higman car, did more laps than any, as he completed 74 laps for the day, and his fastest lap was one of only two to dip under 14 seconds, but the quickest of the day went to long distance traveller 522 Chris Mikulla, with a time of 13.968 seconds.
832 Kane Moore and teenager 785 Liam Deeble, managed some valuable track time, ahead of making their F2 career debuts next week.
Other drivers to feature in readiness for the 4 March Grand Opening Meeting, were 891 Darren Wade, 737 Neil Lampshire, 105 Ross Rowe, 229 Jon Kind, 830 Andrew Bennett and 395 Jason Phillips.

The Stock Rods numbered five, and included two brand new cars - a Vauxhall Corsa for 272 Brett Pascoe, and a new Nova for 193 Chris Drake.

A trio of Ministox, and a sprinkling of over half a dozen Bangers/Bangerstox, completed the roll call of those who made full use of the practice time.

Aside from regular Autospeed formulas, BriSCA Heritage driver 763 Andy Bateman put his nostalgica replica through its paces.
