BriSCA F2 Stock Cars At the start of the meeting, 189 Paul Butcher was afforded a lap of honour to mark his incredible achievement of an unbroken sequence of 50 successive meetings at St Day, despite the arduous round trip of over 400 miles. The race action began with the grand final of the White & Yellow series, and 891 Darren Wade reeled in early leader 550 Andy Sobey to take the victory. There was an overdose of action and controversy in heat two. Firstly, 830 Andrew Bennett and 177 Johnny Statton, tangled in the turnstile bend, and crashed heavily, with Statton rolling on to his side. When the race resumed, Track Champion 667 Tim Farrell blasted 105 Ross Rowe into the fence in the pits bend, as retribution for an incident between the two drivers at the previous St Day meeting. Although Rowe was disappointed to get so much damage to his car, he accepted that Farrell's move was not illegal. Farrell went on to win the race, and former four times World Champion 167 Bill Batten took the next heat. With bonus prize money for the lap leaders in the final, there was an air of eagerness throughout the grid. Wade hit the front on lap seven, but was tracked all the way by Butcher. At the start of the very last lap, Butcher made his move, and got alongside the young Cornish racer. Butcher and Wade then tangled on the final corner. Wade spun, Butcher was delayed, and Ross Rowe closed on them. However, Butcher just got free in time, to scamper over the finish line to win, with Rowe second and Tim Farrell third. The lead laps helped Darren Wade secure overall victory in this year's All Saints series, and he celebrated by winning the end of day Grand National event for good measure. Bangerstox 941 Hannah Creed secured this season's St Day Track Championship for the Bangerstox, and after heat wins for 60 Andy Bulled and 916 Luke Thomas, there was success for a pair of Cornish racers. 832 Kevin Cooper claimed heat three and 804 Treve Wills concluded his track debut by taking the chequered flag in the final. Ministox Honours were well shared out amongst the youngsters in the Ministox, as 985 Amy-Lousie Deeble, 971 Jason Cox and 922 Sam Porter each scored race wins. Less fortunate was 947 Luke Purdy, who crashed out with 991 Ryan Hoskin. Purdy injured his neck, and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, before being released in the evening, after undergoing a check-up.
