Trucks & Lorries

UNMISSABLE
Sponsored by Truro Recycling
If you enjoyed the Truck Racing in either of the past three years, you will know why it is unmissable fun.
If you have not seen the Truck Racing, don't dare miss this year's event.
The day's action for Trucks will end with a Destruction Derby.
At the very first Trucks & Lorries day in 2015, there was the remarkable site of a refuse lorry winning a race at the United Downs Raceway, whilst subsequent events have included a number of battered horse boxes having one last blast of glory around the circuit.
Having raced for the first time in the Truck & Lorry Racing event at St Day last year, father and son pairing 964 Moggie Kelly and 374 Richard Kelly are set to appear again, whilst 141 Toby Tiddy is aiming to maintain his incredible ever-present record.
Look out, too, for 405 Graham Harris at the wheel of his Iveco horse box.

BriSCA F2 Stock Cars

Sponsored by The Cornish Collective
Cornish haulage firms Harts Haulage and Steve Wills have contributed to a prize fund which will also include a brand new tyre for the day's Best White top, and that will ensure another good showing of drivers at the front of the grid, including 663 Bryan Lindsay, who was the white top grade award winner when F2s raced at St Day on 6 May.
The BriSCA F2 Stock Cars will make their fourth St Day appearance of the year, and so far there has yet to be a red top final winner.
The star grade ranks should feature 302 Dale Moon, who was forced to miss the meeting at the start of the month, as a result of a foot injury.
Further Cornish interest amongst the red tops will include 542 Steven Gilbert and 689 Joe Marquand, but so far this season, there has yet to be a Cornish final winner on home territory.
228 Stuart Deacon is due back on the grid, having missed Speed Weekend at Smeatharpe.

In the Five Years Ago section of the Raceday Programme, the attention will turn to 25 May 2014, when it tipped down with rain.  The annual Bus & Coach racing day saw 998 Martin Knowles with the day’s only full-size coach, but can you recall which driver completed an unbroken run of ten appearances in the event?
