The first fixture of 2020 promises a busy afternoon at Smeatharpe for the Winter Open Championship.  There will be Old Skool racing at the start of the meeting, followed by National Bangers style later on in the programme.  The Autospeed Bangers will also be in action, and there will be first outings of the new year for the non-contact Stock Rods and the youngsters in the Ministox.

After the heats have been run to Old Skool format, the Winter Open Championship and the Allcomers will be run to National rules.

Stock Rods

The non-contact Stock Rods will make their first appearance of the year, and a bumper car count is expected.
A fine run of late season form resulted in a deluge of success for 3 Matt Peters.  He successfully defended the Grand National Championship and that helped him put the seal on the overall Points Championship.  He will thus make his first appearance under the silver roof.
British Champion 909 Justin Washer and English Champion 437 Lewis Trickey are each set to feature.
Amongst the south coast based drivers set to help swell the ranks are 234 Josh Murray and track debutant 204 Georgie Biggs.
