Tyrone Snell Trailers Trophy

The Tyrone Snell Trailers Trophy is an incredible piece of auto sculpture which utilises a selection of parts and components associated with Stock Car racing.  The amazing trophy will be the main prize at stake for the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars as they race in Cornwall for the second time during the 2017 season.
Last year's winner of the trophy, Neil Hooper, has switched to BriSCA F1 Stock Cars this season, and thus, possession of the prize is about to change.
Westcountry star, 542 Steven Gilbert, is poised to make his first appearance of the season, having been sidelined for a number of weeks with a foot injury sustained whilst playing football.
Former National Points Champion, 38 Dave Polley, will be hoping that history repeats itself.  Twelve months ago at the corresponding St Day fixture over the Mayday weekend, Polley made the long trek to Cornwall, and scored a feature final win.  Polley will be joined on the long journey by another of the renowned travellers of BriSCA F2 Stock Cars, 488 Liam Bentham.
The meeting will also represent Round 3 of the £2000 Zetec Challenge.  The current leader of the series is 979 Paul Moss.  To date, 17 different drivers have scored points in the series.  Click here for the current standings.
Although 522 Chris Mikulla took top honours by winning the Voice of Autospeed Trophy at the opening St Day fixture on 19 March, it was 575 Tom Clark who hit the top of the Track Championship chart.  Clark is looking to make a successful defence of the title, and holds a slender lead at present.
325 Ryan Sheahan aims to make his first visit to St Day for this season, having raced there once previously under a temporary licence last October.
There is a first race appearance at St Day for 398 Ian England, who was present at the circuit's Open Track Day in February.
Local newcomer 502 Andy Solway will be looking to build on his debut outing at that opening meeting.

Raceday Programme

In the Raceday Programme, the Five Years Ago section will rewind to the Mayday weekend of 2012, and to 6 May in particular.  Siamese Bangers were on the programme, falling over quite a lot from their lofty heights, but it was also the day of the English Championship for Saloon Stock Cars.  Can you recall the westcountry star who took the title?
