Bulldog Bash at the United Downs Raceway, St Day proved a remarkable success, and left veteran Banger driver Steve Belfield near enough speechless.

The essence of the meeting was to celebrate Steve's career in Bangers, which has spanned five decades.

Fittingly, Steve was invited to lead the Grand Parade, at the start of a meeting.

Thereafter, the meeting had just about everything - some close racing, a couple of rollovers, and some truly devastating crashes - most notably in the end of day Destruction Derby.

Once the action had ended, Steve's initial reflections were almost too much for him.  Overcome with the emotion of the occasion, Steve could merely request, "Please say a big Thank You to everyone.  This has been such a special day."  With a wink in his eye, Steve added, "Maybe if we do another one (a second Bulldog Bash), perhaps I will race again."
