Mayday Sunday will see the return of the English Championship for Saloon Stock Cars to the United Downs Raceway.  New grades will come into effect for the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars as they prepare to do battle for the Snell Family Trophy. A strong entry of 2 Litre National Bangers will complete a hugely attractive line-up.

Neil Truran Motorsport are now in their 25th year of providing their service and backing to short oval motor racing in the south west.

Southern Motorsport

Southern Motorsport, who are suppliers of overalls, gloves, balaclavas, neck supports, goggles, etc and other driver racewear, will be in attendance.
They also stock other items which contribute to keeping race cars mobile and on track ready to carry on racing.

The Saloon Stock Cars will make their second St Day appearance of the year.
The English Championship will return to St Day for the first time since 2018 when Kieren Bradford landed the title.  No westcountry driver has won the title since.
349 Michael Allard is the current English Champion, having successfully landed the title at Kings Lynn in 2023.  Having also been victorious in 2022 at Taunton, Allard is on the verge of becoming the first driver to win the English title in three consectutive seasons.
A host of fellow East anglian racers are also heading to the south west, including 129 Will Morphey, 341 Austen Freestone, 238 Alfie Aldous, 329 Kegan Sampson and 474 Michael Kent, who will make his track debut.
Westcountry star 720 Archie Brown will seek to emulate his father, Shane Brown's 2012 success.
Having finished as runner-up in 2022, 677 Warren Darby will be looking to move to the top step of the rostrum.
Cornish interest will see 25 Michael Hibberd and 314 Bryn Finch in action, whilst 759 Taylor Whitford will return to the grid having last raced all three Easter fixtures in the south west.

BriSCA F2 Stock Cars

The BriSCA F2 Stock Cars will make their third St Day appearance of the 2024 season.
325 Ryan Sheahan will be looking to make a successful defence of the Tyrone Snell Trophy - the magnificent piece of auto-sculpture.
New national grades come into effect on 1 May 2024, and thus, this St Day fixture will be the first time that the BriSCA F2 Stock Car drivers will race under the new grades in the south west region.  Having each secured final wins at St Day this year already, 286 Kasey Jones (who won the opening meeting) and 980 Charlie Lobb (who won the World qualifying round) have assured themselves of early grade promotions, with Jones hitting superstar status, and Lobb returning to the red grade.
528 Shane Hector, comprehensive race winner in the Grand National at St Day on Good Friday, will race from the red grade for the first time..
After his first appearance of the new season on 21 April at Smeatharpe, 385 Kieran Cocks is set for a first Cornish outing of the year.

2 Litre National Bangers

The 17 March fixture for 2 Litre National Bangers produced plenty of brutal action, and more of the same is expected.
Amongst the plenthora of crashing, 186 Lewis Fasey swept to a heat and final double, as he continued a successful start to the new season.
The grid will feature brothers 166 Luke Gillbard and 266 Scott Gillbard, along with brothers 841 Tom Perkins and 842 Jack Perkins.
Further local interest will include 11 Grubby Frankson and 53 Chris James, along with 959 Justin Payne and young gun 69 Austin James.
Regulars 59 Mike Hamley, 662 Jared Roe and 83 Ben Styles are also due in action, as is 648 Jamie Smith who was the day's top entertainer when 2 Litre National Bangers last raced at St Day.
