The 44th annual Championship of the World for National Bangers at Smeatharpe, as sponsored by Milber Salvage & Spares, has been scheduled for Sunday 22 August 2027.

In July 2026, Jack Overy won the title for a record fifth time.  No driver has been able to make a successful defence of the title since Steve Carter did so in 2014.

Qualification for the event for Autospeed licensed drivers will be via a variety of routes, including the Autospeed Points Championship, the Autospeed Entertainers' League and Wild Card events.

The 2026 Points Championship is heading towards its climax.  The outcome of the silver roof is still to be determined.

Sunday 25 October - Smeatharpe - Teamarama - 2 Litre National Bangers
Sunday 1 November - St Day - Judgement Day - unlimited cc National Bangers
Sunday 22 November - Smeatharpe - Fiesta Frenzy - All Fiesta Bangers
